Printer drivers are stored in a subfolder in the Library folder of your Mac's home directory. This failing, find the driver on your old system and move it to the new one. Now you should get a message (if there is no driver available), that will ask if you want to download this driver. Hit the + at the bottom of the prinyrtr box. Your printer should show up in the printer column. Make sure your printer is turned on and connected via USB cable. Try this: plug your printer in, go to System Preferences under the Apple, select Printers & Scanners.
